NorthMin LMC Oath Taking and Orientation

The National Conciliation and Mediation Board (NCMB-X) of the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) successfully conducted an oath-taking ceremony and orientation to the Labor-Management Council (LMC) of North Mindanao Operations (MKADC, WDC, and Dole – Maramag), on June 3, 2022, in MKADC, Lurugan, Valencia City, Bukidnon.

Mr. Francis B. Babac, Director for North Mindanao Operations, officiated the LMC’s oath-taking ceremony. On the other hand, Senior Labor and Employment Officers Junaliza S. Aragon and Gwyneth T. Abella facilitated an orientation to Northmin’s 24 LMCs. The Provincial Head of the Labor and Employment Department, Mr. Raul Valmores, delivered a message to the LMC and emphasized the significance of strong labor-management relationships in pursuing and protecting the interests of all employees. Furthermore, Ms. April Globelle M. San Sebastian, Northmin Operations Manager of Human Resources and Administration, stresses the importance of harmony in the workplace. The activity aims to establish a relationship between labor, management, and the government through the Labor-Management Council (LMC).

Aside from the abovementioned objective, LMC also seeks to promote a healthy employee-employer environment and to provide a forum for labor/management to discuss and develop outplacement techniques, as well as to reach an agreement on the best approaches. In line with this, the LMC uses the concept of “Buliga” for Northmin operations, which means helping one another irrespective of race or cultural diversity. “Pinaghiusa” represents unity in diversity for MKADC; “Pinagsadya” represents workplace happiness for WDC; and “Pinagsabot” also represents mutual understanding and reconciliation for Dole-Maramag.

Everyone gained valuable insights from the event, and as the saying goes, “the company’s greatest asset is its people,” and this is true. In an organization, a positive employee-employer relationship, knowledge of employees’ skills and capabilities, and commitment to the overall success of the adjustment effort are essential. These are some of the most important concepts that each of us must understand.
