Malungon, Sarangani Province (June 17, 2022) – LGU Malungon thru the Municipal Environment and Natural Resources Office (MENRO), headed by Joel M. Martinez, in partnership with Dole Philippines, Inc. joins the celebration of World Environment Month with the Municipal Arbor Day 2022, a tree-growing activity and environmental awareness campaign, by planting Mahogany and Red Lawaan seedlings, on June 17-23, 2022 at Barangay Kibala,Alkikan and Datal Batong, Malungon, Sarangani Province.

Pursuant to Republic Act No. 10176 or the “Arbor Day Act of 2012”, LGU Malungon approved an ordinance, No. 2020-130-14, entitled the “Arbor Day Ordinance of the Municipality of Malungon 2020” which declares every third Friday of June as the Municipal Arbor Day. This ordinance mandates all qualified (able-bodied) Malungonians aged 12 years and above to plant and grow at least one (1) tree every year.
