Dole Bags Award of Merit During the 19th Philippine Quill Awards

Dolefil has once again proved that excellence is embedded in the DNA of every Doler. In the recently conducted 19^th Philippine Quill Awards, out of more than 800 entries, Dolefil’s Ridge to Reef Program has been given an Award of Merit under the Communications Management Division, Corporate Social Responsibility Category.

The Ridge to Reef Program attempts to consolidate different development initiatives from the headwaters of the Mt. Matutum and Silway rivers watersheds down to Sarangani Bay Seascape, recognizing the inter-connectedness of the different sub-ecosystems. The program focuses on a collective and complementary approach in the protection and restoration of the said ecosystems’ functions and processes, with the aim to mitigate further degradation of land, water and coastal areas. It also seeks to share the responsibility of protection, restoration, and conservation, and – at the same time – share the economic and environmental benefits of the two (2) river systems and watersheds.

To add a Ridge to Reef Documentary was produced to highlight the Program’s best practices and its impact to its communities. The documentary covered the holistic approach of the program in addressing issues covering denudation, soil erosion, the lack of a potable water system, the provision of livelihood opportunities, and empowering local communities in the protection of the identified landscape and seascape area.

The Philippine Quill Awards is given by the International Association of Business Communications of the Philippines that aim to acknowledge companies with their best practices with regard to business communications.
