Dolefil Celebrates Privacy Awareness Week 2023

On May 22, 2023, Dolefil kickstarted a week-long celebration on Privacy Awareness Week 2023. Various activities were conducted by Dolefil’s Data Privacy Office to continue to raise awareness and instill the importance of data privacy in the work place as well as on their personal lives.

“Dear DPO” was one of the events during the celebration where Dolers shared their experiences related to data privacy especially with scams, identity theft, data leaks, and others. In the end, tips and takeaways were provided by the Data Privacy Office to educate others to not fall victim of the same situations.

Another activity conducted during the celebration was “Online Security Quiz” in which Dolers answered a series of questions specific about online security. The goal of the activity was to allow Dolers to reflect on how they behave on social networking sites and whether they should make changes to protect their personal information online.

Dolers were also tested daily with their knowledge about data privacy through “Data Privacy Quiz”. Five participants with the correct answer were identified to win daily prizes.

Through this year’s PAW Celebration, the National Privacy Commission wants to convey to Filipinos that there is power in their personal data and data privacy rights. With this, Dolefil ensures its compliance to the Data Privacy Act of the Philippines and has prepared activities for the week-long celebration of PAW.
