Dolefil Celebrates Privacy Awareness Week 2022
In observance of Proclamation No. 527, “Declaring the Last Week of May of Every Year as National Data Privacy Awareness Week”, Dole Philippines, Inc. acknowledges the need to inform and educate the public about data privacy, data protection, and fair information rights and responsibilities.
With the theme: “Ang PAWer ng Data Privacy Mo: Praktikal, Angkop, at Wastong Paggamit ng Datos ni Juan at Juana,” the National Privacy Commission (NPC) wants to further raise awareness among Filipinos on the importance of their data privacy and the #PAWer it has.
With this, Dolefil celebrated the Data Privacy Awareness Week on May 23 – 27, 2022. It was a week-long celebration in which several activities and trainings were prepared to engage employees and strengthen data privacy and protection within the organization and their day to day lives.
Data Privacy Refresher was given to LMC Leaders in both Polomolok and DUVO with the objective to strengthen data privacy and protection and have them cascade data privacy principles and practices to their respective teams.
The DPA Quiz, aimed to engage employees and determine their knowledge with regard to Data Privacy. To add, its goal is to strengthen Data Privacy Awareness amongst employees and ensure Data Security and Data Protection within the organization.
The conduct of a Privacy Impact Assessment is part of the Pillars of the implementation of Data Privacy in an organization. With that, the training objective is to equip identified Personal Data Processors and Process Owners on the rightful knowledge in conducting a Privacy Impact Assessment and to ensure that security measures are being well implemented in their respective
areas of operations.
Lastly, the DPA, Everyday Contest, aimed to acknowledge current best practices in the organization with regard to the implementation of Data Privacy and Data Security in their respective areas of operations. Jan Harley Domingo of Finance Division, won victorious with the aforementioned contest, followed by, Irene Bibaoco of DUVO, Jhonel Chavez of DUVO, Mary Grace Andrada of Finance, and Hazel Bautista of Human Resources, respectively.
