Respecting Human Rights at Dole
Dear all,
International Human Rights Day serves as a reminder of the importance of promoting and protecting human rights globally. It provides an opportunity to raise awareness about human rights issues, advocate for the implementation of human rights standards, and reflect on the progress made as well as the challenges that still exist.
International Human Rights Day marks the anniversary of the adoption of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights in 1948. This document serves as a beacon, proclaiming the fundamental rights and freedoms to which every individual is entitled, regardless of their background or circumstances.
At Dole, we recognize that a diverse and inclusive workplace is not just a matter of policy but an embodiment of human rights principles. As we approach International Human Rights Day on December 10th , let us collectively reaffirm our commitment to fostering an environment that respects the rights of each team member. Here are a few steps you can take as we play our role:
- Watch our Human Rights Overview video for a 2-minute refresher on the foundation of human rights.
- Review our Human Rights Global Policy to understand our approach to Human Rights and the actions we have put in place to remediate Human Rights risks
- Revisit the Human Rights: What it means to Us at Dole eLearning* on the roles you play in fostering a respectful and inclusive environment.
*The Human Rights: What it means to Us at Dole eLearning is now available on Dole Sunshine Percipio! You can find the course in English and 9 other languages. Once you log in, you can find the eLearning by navigating to “Library” at the top left-hand corner of your page and clicking on Dole Trainings -> Dole Human Rights Training.
